HAVE YOU EVER wondered why you have tired, achy legs? Did you know that more than 30 million Americans suffer from varicose veins, or a more serious form of venous disease called chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), yet the majority remain undiagnosed and untreated? If CVI is left untreated, symptoms can worsen over time. As a result vein valves will not close properly or reflux, leading to symptoms including:
- varicose veins
- leg pain, aching, cramping and heaviness
- leg and ankle swelling
- lower leg skin changes, rashes and sores, or ulcers
CVT Vein Therapy Center specializes in the evaluation and treatment of CVI and its associated complications. Our team includes four board-certified vascular surgeons, a physician assistant and multiple vascular technologists from our nationally accredited vascular lab. Our vein center provides a comfortable environment to take care of your vein needs from start to finish. Multiple treatment options are available for CVI and spider veins, including radiofrequency ablation, phlebectomy, sclerotherapy and wound care. Most are covered by insurances.
We are proud to announce that we were one of the first centers in the Baton Rouge area to use the new VenaSeal Closure System for the treatment of venous reflux. Dr. P. Michael Davis led the way in 2016 and performed the most VenaSeal Closure procedures in Louisiana. The VenaSeal Closure system is the first and only treatment approved in the U.S. that uses an advanced medical adhesive to safely and effectively close a diseased vein segment. This procedure was designed to minimize patient discomfort and reduce recovery time. We have patients that have returned to work the same day of the procedure. At CVT Vein Therapy Center, we pride ourselves on the individual care we give to each and every patient. “Our goal is to get patients back to doing what they love by treating their symptoms as well as addressing their cosmetic concerns,” says Dr. Davis.
